General Motors is to introduce its “BEV3” next-generation electric vehicle platform into the Chinese market, said its executive vice president Julian Blissett to Caijing in an interview.

Baidu will not spin off its auto-driving unit, says vice president Li Zhenyu

In response to reports of a spin-off of Baidu Apollo, Baidu vice-president and general manager of the intelligent driving group Li Zhenyu said on Wednesday in a meeting that the company will not do that and the unit has no financing plan so far.
Baidu Apollo hasn't turned a profit in the past 7 years and may not in the near future. But the unit will stick to their commitment in the sector.?
In terms of the Baidu's detailed investment amount into Baidu Apollo, Li refused to disclose, saying it must be larger than Didi's.

BMW to double charging piles in China, cooperates with State Grid
Details
BMW said Wednesday that it will increase the number of EV charging piles in China to over 270,000 by the end of 2020, doubling the number in 2019. The piles include 80,000 that provide direct current charging.
BMW also reached agreement with the EV service unit of China's electricity utility monopoly State Grid, to cooperate on research of new charging technology and promotion of solar power for EV.
